Winchester police arrest armed robbery suspect

The Winchester Police Department say a suspect has been taken into custody following an armed robbery Friday afternoon.

Officers were called to the BP gas station on Rolling Hills Lane at about 12:24 Friday afternoon for a reported armed robbery.

Officers say a white male dressed in dark clothing brandished a handgun and demanded money.

Winchester Police Chief Travis Thompson says Coty Savage was taken into custody after a short chase. Savage is from Virginia. Winchester Police say he was found with a vehicle reported stolen in Pennsylvania.

Police say Savage will be booked in the Clark County Detention Center on multiple charges including first degree robbery.

Chief Thompson says Savage has a long criminal history and multiple identities.
