Arrest made in fatal stabbing

Kentucky State Police say one person is dead after a fatal stabbing in Harlan county.

KSP says they responded to a home off KY State Highway 72 after a report of a stabbing, around 6:30 Saturday night.

Police say a preliminary investigation indicates Michael Howard stabbed his girlfriend, Mary Clayborn, who was pronounced dead at the hospital.

Troopers say, Howard was arrested and charged with murder, He is in the Harlan County Detention Center.

The investigation is ongoing.
