Michael Jackson‘s iconic music video “Thriller” has surpassed 1 billion views on YouTube.
“Thriller” becomes the King of Pop’s fourth video to breach the 1-billion-view mark after “Beat It,” “Billie Jean” and “They Don’t Care About Us.”
The visual was directed by John Landis, written by Jackson and Landis, and stars Jackson and Ola Ray. It references numerous horror films and has Jackson dancing with a horde of zombies.
Following its release, in 1984, the single peaked at No. 4 on the Billboard Hot 100 and at No. 3 on Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs.
