One person was injured after a heavy fire broke out at an apartment building in Old Louisville Sunday evening.
Capt. Donovan Sims with Louisville Fire Department said crews responded to an apartment building fire in the 1800 block of South 3rd Street just after 8 p.m.
According to Sims, a 3-story multi-family apartment had heavy fire in the rear and a second alarm was dispatched within 10 minutes.
Occupants self-evacuated and were accounted for. Two firefighters were treated for exhausted but remained on scene.
Sims said one person was taken to the hospital due to injuries, but their condition is unknown at this time.
